From Expression to Experience
If my mother had told me that I was born with a paintbrush in my hand, I would have believed her. My earliest memories are of drawing my favorite cartoon and video game characters.
As I explored other mediums of art— from acrylic paint to digital portraits— I knew I wanted to work in something creative.
Being a practical person that valued accessibility and intuitive processes in every day life, I always pondered the ways I could make things better if I just knew how. I would ask myself questions like “If I could re-arrange this store so it’s quicker to shop, how would I do it?”
Then I learned that problem solving could indeed be a path for me when I came across the concept of UX Design. Finally the pieces fell in place: I’d found a role where I could contribute to simplifying experiences so that regular people would feel confident to tackle their goals.
With a little boost from working in retail technology and a scrappy approach to figuring things out, I began mastering tools like Figma. In an ever-evolving role, I am always learning and adapting.
Nothing is too complex when I break it down and transform it into an easy to use solution.
